The first time we meet, my goal is to collect detailed information about your medical and psychiatric history as well as possible environmental or psychosocial stressors that may be contributing to your symptoms. This information helps make an accurate diagnosis.
We will then work together to create a specialized treatment plan that aligns with your values and desired outcomes. This usually includes mindful medication management, supportive therapy, lifestyle modifications, and complimentary therapies such as acupuncture or massage therapy. This first meeting typically lasts around 90 minutes.

These are subsequent visits to check in with you to monitor your response to medications and other holistic interventions we created as part of your tailored treatment plan and to monitor your progress as you move towards your mental health and wellness goals. These appointments are 30 minutes.

There are many medical conditions that can mimic certain psychiatric symptoms, and may even make some symptoms worse. Because of my holistic approach, lab work is often recommended to rule out underlying medical conditions.
Routine Labs: these are blood tests used to screen for disease states, monitor existing conditions and evaluate overall health. These often include complete blood count, electrolytes, lipid levels, thyroid function and vitamin deficiencies. These are usually covered by insurance (check with your specific provider).
Pharmacogenomic testing: a type of genetic test (done via a buccal swab) that helps predict how your genetic makeup impacts your response to medications. The goal of these tests is to optimize medication efficacy while minimizing side effects. This may be partially covered by insurance and out-of-pocket costs vary.
